This original Junkers Ju, nicknamed Tante Ju (Aunt Ju) is a German trimotor transport aircraft manufactured in 1939. It served in the World War and saw both civilian and military service in Germany, South America, France and Switzerland.

In its military role, the Ju 52 flew with the Luftwaffe, serving mostly for cargo and fleet transport. It continued in postwar service with military and civilian air fleets well into the 1980s.

The decision to collaborate with the luxury Swiss watch manufacturer, IWC, and local jeweler, Mezger, is part of an on-going strategic move by Air Service Basel's CEO Claudio Lasagni to improve connections with local businesses in the luxury brands market.

“We have many high-profile individuals passing through our terminal everyday and we want them to stay loyal to us." claims Claudio Lasagni, CEO Air Service Basel. "If we can appeal to our clients beyond our exceptional customer-service, with offers they are interested in, and also support local businesses to sell their goods in a non-invasive way, then, from my point of view, it's a win-win situation for everyone”.

Mezger Event Coordinator, Maxime Mezger agrees that local events are very important to reach new customers in the luxury good industry. “A lot of business with our clients is still based on face-to-face interaction, so working with Air Service Basel for events is always worthwhile for us.”
